2026 Wardrobe Post, Part 1: OPs

It's 2026 and every single year I tell myself I'm going to make a wardrobe post and then we get into January and I don't so... this year I'm doing it! I have 47 main pieces, with this post being dedicated to my OPs. I'll make separate posts for skirts and JSKS.

My wardrobe is heavily influenced by a couple of factors: I'm a daily lolita, I wear the fashion to work and for all sorts of things outside of it as well so I value comfort and durability very highly. Secondly, I'm plus sized, which means my options can be somewhat limited. Luckily there are a lot more options out there now than when I first became interested in the fashion in the 00s.

Here's my coord breakdown for 2025 by main piece. I wore the fashion 290 days, for an average of 5.5 days a week. (I've since realized my catalogue might be missing a few coords) I mostly wear gothic and dark coloured or "spooky" sweet, but I play with some other styles as well. I'll be organizing these posts by least worn to most per category.

Hydrangea Lace OP by Sheglit - 2 Wears
I bought this from a friend since I was pleasantly surprised by my other Sheglit OP only to find out that this one did NOT come close to fitting, despite all evidence suggesting it should. I was so taken with it and also in desperate need of summer friendly op's that I took it to my tailor and after sacrificing most of the matching belt came away with a well fitted, if high waisted, comfortable dress (and it has pockets)! I forsee it ranking very highly in 2026's wears-per-piece rankings. This coord was for my first MTG Prerelease I'd been to in around 8 years, for Avatar! The shop we went to was small but all of the folks I talked to were very nice, my crow bag was very popular and held everything I needed for the event.

Nyx's Kiss OP by Sweetwood Lolita - 3 Wears
It pained me to sell this OP because the fit on it is so good and it was an early purchase of mine, but considering how bordeaux is a side colour in my wardrobe it made no sense to own this and Edelstein (coming up). I'm hoping to find the green version instead! I especially really love all the lace details, it was really unexpected for me considering the price point compared to Brand.

Noblesse Oblige OP by Kaneko - 4 Wears
Knight Dress! I really like this op and find it very comfortable, plus I love telling people that I named it (Kaneko was taking naming suggestions via their stories and they picked mine) but I find it challenging to coord in different ways with my wardrobe since it's off-black and ivory which doesn't feature highly in my closet. I liked this coord with the veil and stays to mix up the silhouette a bit. I'll try to wear it more this year! It's also been altered to fit better in the shoulders and upper bust since when I got it it was comically large on me through that area.

Black x Ivory OP (Reseller Link) by Muppet's Preoccupied Book - 4 Wears
Similiarly to Noblesse Oblige, I absolutely love the fit and cut of this dress but struggle with coording it- the fact that a completely non-stretch OP fit me off the rack with no alteration is crazy! But I just don't like ivory that much. I did recently include an ivory corset with a preorder so we'll see if that helps me mix it up a bit! The brand has also since release a fully black, similar dress, but they didn't do it up to the 3XL size and further releases of this dress have stopped at 2XL so I can only assume the 3XL was decided to not be worth it for them, unfortunately. With that being said, I love this dress for my manga/manwha protagonist vibes, or in this case, the maid that's secretly the best character in the show (inspired by Mio from Zutaboro Reijō wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai Sareru)

Adenophora OP by Atelier Pierrot - 4 Wears
I love this OP so much but being velvet sure is a limiting factor in how often I wear it! This is another one where the shoulders were altered, just bringing in the elastics to tighten them up. This is reminding me that I should wear it more now while the weather is still cool. I actually loved all four coords I wore this year, but picked this one for my first successful time wearing a bonnet and enjoying it. This bonnet is more of half of a hat and it's soooo much easier to wear than the "satellite dish" type that came with one of my other dresses. Someone on discord drew me in this coord and I was very flattered!

A Full Moon Night OP by Haenuli - 6 Wears
This was a dream dress of mine! But then once I got it, I found myself not wearing it too much because of how OTT it is, so in 2025 I made a conscious effort to wear it more and try to play around with the silhouette to mix it up! Despite being long sleeved, the tulle is nice and airy so it's well suited for summer wear. This was an OTT coord I made for a local fan convention, my favourite detail is wearing my Dreamy Pebble bat bag as a belt pouch makes it look like she's hanging in the night sky. Another challenge for this OP is that I lack "matching" headwear. I'm not the biggest fan of the matching bonnet, but I need to find ~something~

Edelstein Shirring OP by Sheglit - 7 Wears
I alluded to this OP a couple times above, this was a risky buy brand new from Atelier Pierrot, but I've always loved and admired Sheglit pieces as that perfect gothic/classic intersection so when this one was announced with measurements that should fit me I had to try, and I was rewarded. It fits me quite well, although the shoulders are a tiiiiiny bit tight and the bust line sits a bit higher than I'm sure it's meant to. It's very versatile for styling with the removable accessories and bustle strings, sometimes I will coord it in a more historically inspired way and others like this coord in a more edgy/punky way. This is another one of the solids in my closet that I would love to also pick up another colourway of if given the chance.

Princess Windsor OP (reseller link) by Little Dipper - 8 Wears
And speaking of versatile, easy to style OPs that I'd love to acquire more colourways of - it's my Little Dipper OP! It was only this year I started wearing it occasionally as a sack dress and I surprised myself by loving it and not feeling like a giant potato when worn that way. It also works great with belts, corsets, vests, etc. I especially appreciate the shorter length, as a short person, it's nice to have a few pieces that actually show the tops of my lace OTKs for once. I'm hoping to find one of the lavender versions to fill out the pastel side of my wardrobe a bit.

And that's it for the OPs! The smallest section of my wardrobe, it's surprising how many are from chinese indie and especially how well those ones fit me. I have narrow shoulders for my bust/waist/ribcage size and I think that works in my favour often in lolita. Next post will cover Skirts!
